On 31st October 2009, the English Defence League (EDL) and Unit Against Fascism (UAF) held public demonstrations against each others views in Leeds City Centre.
Whist the event was largely peaceful, factions of both groups attempted to break police cordons to confront each other.
There were a number of arrests for public order offences and some incidences of violence.
